2025 IMPACT STATEMENT
At Blue Sky Wilderness Guides, we believe that enjoying the outdoors comes with a great responsibility to protect it. In 2025, we are taking significant steps to reduce our environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future
A GREENER PATH FORWARD
Here is our plan for 2025:
Eliminating Battery Waste: We are transitioning to reusable batteries for all our equipment, cutting down on single-use battery waste and reducing harmful environmental impacts.
Carpooling Incentive: To reduce fuel emissions and the number of vehicles at trailheads, we are introducing a carpooling incentive program. This not only minimizes our footprint but also ensures more parking spaces are available for other park visitors.
Collaborating with Sustainable Businesses: We are partnering with local, sustainably focused businesses to supply food and drinks for our experiences. In return, we proudly promote their products and services, fostering both social and economic growth in our community.
Partnering with and Promoting B Corporations: We are building partnerships with certified B Corporations in outdoor gear, health and wellness products, household essentials, clothing, footwear, and more. By promoting their mission-driven brands, we encourage our community to support businesses that balance purpose and profit while protecting the environment.
Trail and Waterway Cleanups: This summer, we are organizing several local cleanup events focused on maintaining the beauty and health of Colorado’s trails and waterways. These efforts invite our community to join us in giving back to the spaces we enjoy, ensuring they remain pristine for future generations.
Partnering for Change: We are joining 1% for the Planet, committing a portion of our revenue to environmental causes, and becoming members of the Colorado Green Business Network to further align our operations with sustainable practices.
Eco-Friendly Practices: We’re integrating eco-friendly products into our operations to reduce waste and ensure a minimal environmental footprint. Additionally, any leftover food waste from our experiences is composted to close the sustainability loop.
These initiatives reflect our dedication to not only guiding our guests through Colorado’s incredible wilderness but also preserving it for generations to come. By supporting sustainable practices, organizing community-driven cleanups, and building a stronger local economy, we aim to set a standard for responsible outdoor recreation.
Let's explore and protect the places we love!
